Psalms 34:22 • John 3:17
Running through the shadows, a whisper in the dark Every misstep echoing, leaving its bitter mark They spoke of rules and failings, a debt I couldn't pay Their judging eyes like arrows, chasing me away I felt the world's cold shoulder, a spirit stripped and bare Believing I was worthless, beyond all love and care
But here, no condemnation, only open arms I find A shelter in the storm, for a weary, hunted mind You didn't send Your Son to point a finger, or to cast me down But to save me, to uplift me, and turn my sorrow 'round Oh, the Lord redeems His servants, none who take refuge here Will ever be condemned, or live another day in fear
Some came with stones and scriptures, their words were sharp and cold But You saw past the labels, a story to unfold You didn't ask my background, my faith, or where I'd been You saw a human longing, a heart ensnared by sin Like desert rain to dry ground, Your kindness broke the spell The worth I thought was broken, Your gentle spirit made me well
And here, no condemnation, only open arms I find A shelter in the storm, for a weary, hunted mind You didn't send Your Son to point a finger, or to cast me down But to save me, to uplift me, and turn my sorrow 'round Oh, the Lord redeems His servants, none who take refuge here Will ever be condemned, or live another day in fear
I carried my past, a heavy, dusty load Tried to earn a love that's freely bestowed But You just open Your arms wide, no questions, no debate Just mercy overflowing, knocking down every gate My soul finds deep contentment, my deepest longings cease A gentle, fierce embrace, bringing everlasting peace
So here, no condemnation, only open arms I find A shelter in the storm, for a weary, hunted mind You didn't send Your Son to point a finger, or to cast me down But to save me, to uplift me, and turn my sorrow 'round Oh, the Lord redeems His servants, none who take refuge here Will ever be condemned, or live another day in fear
No condemnation, just love untold A story of rescue, bravely unfolds Safe in Your keeping, forever free You chose to save me, You chose to save me Forever free... safe in Your arms...
