Psalms 110:3 • Philemon 1:14
From the breaking of the dawn, a whisper soft and low, Not a thunderous command, but a seed He wants to sow. He desires our willing hearts, arrayed in splendor bright, The fresh dew of our youth, walking in His light. He could simply make us move, like puppets on a string, But He seeks a deeper bond, the songs our free souls sing.
Oh, not by force, no, never by demand, But by the choice of a willing heart and hand. From compelled servants to children by His grace, We run with joy to find our Father's embrace. He calls us not as slaves, but brothers, loved and free, To serve with cheerful spirit, for all eternity.
Like Onesimus once fled, deemed broken and unwise, Paul's plea for a brother, seen through loving eyes. "He was useless for a time, but now he is renewed, Receive him as myself, with kindness unsubdued." He bore the debt himself, though we owe Him so much more, He takes our failings on, and opens wide the door.
This tension that we hold, a servant and a child, Not forced to bend the knee, but by His grace beguiled. The Spirit gently leads, to conviction from above, Our liberty in Christ, compelled by perfect love. He sits beside us close, and asks us what we'll do, Inviting us to choose, to be faithful, strong, and true.
Oh, not by force, no, never by demand, But by the choice of a willing heart and hand. From compelled servants to children by His grace, We run with joy to find our Father's embrace. He calls us not as slaves, but brothers, loved and free, To serve with cheerful spirit, for all eternity.
Willing hearts, joyful hands, Loved and chosen, across all lands. Not by force, but freely given, Our grateful praise to Him in heaven. Freely given... amen.
